Congratulations to New Community Church in Georgia for winning the Church of the month. Here’s part of what makes New Community so special…

We would be totally blessed to be considered among the churches that are “killing it in the sticks”! We are a multi-cultural church in a small town in Georgia that has had a long standing culture of racism and segregation. (When I moved here in the 80′s, the town still had segregated recreational facilities!)

We are prayerfully tearing down strongholds of racism through the power of love and the Holy Spirit. We are believing God to build a mission-minded, unified expression of the church that reflects the diversity and beauty of all of the cultures in our community, and demonstrates the power of Christ to set us free from our sinful prejudices.

New’s team will be sending 5 to the Sticks Conference this year.

The Sticks At Exponential – What’s Happening

The Sticks is proud to partner with the Exponential Conference this year to bring a couple of pre-conference sessions designed for churches in smaller cities. In addition to offering our yearly conference (October 17-19), we want to equip and inspire leaders throughout the country to live BIG in the small.

Here’s a breakdown of what we’ll be doing at Exponential.

Dates: April 26-27

Cost: $59

Session 1: Best Practices in Small City Church Planting including Bi-Vocational Issues

This session is all about planning, praying, and playing to win big in smaller cities. There are more smaller cities than larger ones throughout the US. If we are going to win the world for Christ, it must start with us!

Session 2: Blurring the lines in a small town. (How to grow a multi-ethnic church in a segregated small town)

Basic, hard-nosed training on how to grow a multi-ethnic church in smaller cities. It can be done but is not for the faint of heart. During this session, Pastor Artie Davis will help equip leaders to do what isn’t easy, but is extremely rewarding.
